FW23: BITE
ABOUT
The Avenue Magazine's nineteenth issue, BITE, explores intensity and primal impulses—the exhilarating moment of giving in to raw instinct. Our theme examined the tension between restraint and indulgence, civilization and animal nature. As we defined it: "To pierce, indulge in, or imitate a state of intense high energy and animal temptation; giving in to your basest urges—even if it means biting the hand that feeds you."
MY ROLE
In my first time as Director of Photography, I crafted a cohesive visual strategy that captured BITE's visceral energy across 140 pages. I directed and mentored a team of 15 photographers through multiple simultaneous productions within a compressed two-week timeline, providing consistent art direction while encouraging bold creative risks. I also personally conceptualized and shot "ABSORB," a 12-page visual narrative exploring consumption and sensory experience that anchored the issue on page 68. This experience reinforced my ability to develop cohesive visual identities that strengthen The Avenue's brand while leading creative teams through challenging productions.
